LOVE IT! What a fantastic project. Honestly, it makes me want to spend all weekend at thrift stores. OH, I love that the man-den version of the table has a beer bottle sitting artfully on top of some type of spool and the remotes are even styled. Have to give your husband credit…that tablescape isn't half bad! Nice work, all!

This is truly fantastic! I must admit I am quite jealous of your find and your excellent workmanship 🙂 My hubby and I were just discussing how to get some cool old wood b/c we've been so inspired by "Knock Off Wood's" design for a farmhouse table (thanks for the link to her site, btw).

  27. pam@pixelimpress says:

  32. cassie @ hi sugarplum! says:

GREAT project! and I love your wire basket of magazines.

I want to white-wash an armoire….how do you know when you have the right ratio of paint to water? The wood is that raw southwest style, will it just soak in the water and leave paint only showing? (this is probably the dumbest question ever!)

  33. bazaarofserendipity says:

Your hubby is the best! Always helping you with all your little projects! what a trooper! it turned out great as always!

  36. High-Heeled Foot in the door says:

So happy you all liked it!

You guys are giving Jon a huge head! 🙂 He is thrilled of course.

He even made a point to tell me that he picked out that beer, because it orange in the label and he knew it would go with the color scheme he was going for.

*Cassie for the ratio of white-washing you really just have to play around with it. We had a spare piece of wood that we tried different variations of and the formula that worked for us was with having a large amount of water, medium amount of stain and then just the smallest amount of white paint. I can't give you exact measurements, because I'm not sure of the size of your piece.

  37. Mackenzie {Design Darling} says:

camila, you've done it again. a brilliant diy project — and jon's styling was just the icing on the cake.

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
