DIY Yarn Wreath

Last week I bookmarked this great DIY post from Joi’s blog

Here is Joi’s wreath:

Joi got the tutorial from Lindsay.

Here is Lindsay’s take on it:

Lindsay got the tutorial from Danielle via Meg’s blog.

Here is Danielle’s version:

Here is Megan’s version:

I knew right away that I wanted to tackle it as well. I hadn’t decorated the house at all for Fall/Thanksgiving so I was excited to work on something to add a little holiday cheer to my house.

I went to Michaels and purchased the following items:

1 yarn skein $2.99
1 large straw wreath $3.99
10 sheets of felt $2

This project was super easy. It did take about 2 hours to get the wreath covered in yarn, but making and adding the flowers was only about 30 mins.

Here is mine:

I got obsessed making those flowers so I made a hair accessory as well:

While I was busy making the headband Jon had fun with the felt:

{Totally random that we have mini army men just laying around the house so that he could easily set up this scene.}

How you tried making one yet? Any other easy decoration projects you can recommend?

I made my yarn wreath this weekend! It was so easy, and now I want to tackle a DIY tree skirt with the felt flowers.

We have now added this to our list of August projects. Have always wanted to know how to make the flowers.
    Great idea!
