Lately my weekends have been filled with trips to art stores to pick up canvas & paint.
Why you may ask? Well it turns out that Jon known to most of you as my lovely handy man husband has had an artist hiding inside of him all along. I think working with me on design projects woke something up in Jon and now he can’t turn back. My Christmas gifts this year were many original pieces and he now has decided he wants to open up an etsy shop!
We saw that there was a market for budget friendly original canvas wrapped artwork and voila a collaboration was born. I pick out the color stories and he gets to design this time.
Here are some sneak peeks of what we have been working on:
Sorry for the fuzzy pictures. I was running out the door this morning so iphone pictures was the only thing on hand.
Can’t wait till we open up shop! Now we just need someone to design an etsy banner & logo. Do you have any recommendations?

Lovely! I cannot wait to see them in full, and do let us know when the etsy opens.
Love the paintings! What size canvas has he been using? Any idea on the price point yet? I need something fun and colorful over my couch and some of these would be perfect!

A handyman and an artist? You may be the luckiest designer (wife) alive!
Very true Traci! The icing on the cake would be if was a web programmer as well!
Beautiful! How cool that your husband has an artistic side, and that he wants to “go for it.” Awesome!!
Congrats Jon for finding your inner Van Gogh. What beautiful work.

How about Front Porch Studio!
My husband has designed some fabulous websites and promotional materials. Check out our church website!
How wonderful! Go Jon! I especially love the first one!
Very nice! I like those
sooo nice.
it reminds me of corkscrews and canvas or cocktails and canvas.
great ideas…
Nice! I love the first one especially!
I like the first one the best. What is that type of painting called? I looks like pats or pads of paint which is a very unrefined explination of what I see.
Has your husband opened his Etsy shop yet? I am loving these paintings.
I just discovered your blog this weekend. I am enjoying it!
