HOW-TO-MAKE-AN-EASY-DIY-OUTDOOR-MOVIE-SCREEN-WITH-STAND

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]

It’s happening. Jon finally caved agreed. The living room is going pale pink and it’s happening this week. We were going to outsource the painting, but it’s not a huge room and since we are dedicated DIY-ers we are going to it instead. Primer coat goes on tonight. Stay tuned… P.S. Weekend Recap will be […]

Down Under Design

I’m always one for being fashionable late, but I must say I’m sorry it took me so long to get to this party. The party I’m referring to is Pinterest. The other day while working ok so it was more like delaying work I finally decided to do something with the account that I set […]

Color Combo Obsession

We are always trying to figure out easier/better ways to paint furniture. When possible we prefer to use spray-paint or the paint compressor, because we get a nicer finish (no brush strokes). With this most recent project we went the spray-painting route. BEFORE: AFTER: Here is how we achieved our final project: We sanded it […]

DIY Spraypainting Wood Furniture

Our new favorite spray paint is Montana Gold! It’s a little bit pricier than other spray-paints, but we loved the rainbow of colors it is available in and it’s smooth application. Perks: -It has a nice fine mist that allows for better control when spraying, which helps in avoiding drip marks. -It coats evenly and […]

We hit GOLD!

I’m still not on good terms with my sewing machine so I’m always on the look out to figure out no sew solutions to get my custom window treatment fix. This project took a couple of hours, but was really simple. Here is what you need: – 1/2″ thick mounting board that needs to be […]

DIY: No Sew Box Pleat Valance

I’m normally not a big fan of Valentine’s day, but I’m totally into the spirit of it this year. I’m decked in red and over all just in cheery mood celebrating this day of love. I was happily surprised when these arrived this morning: It was very sweet of Jon to send them and I […]

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
