HOW-TO-MAKE-AN-EASY-DIY-OUTDOOR-MOVIE-SCREEN-WITH-STAND

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]

I like to go a bit bold and colorful with fabrics, but I know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea. For this weeks Pattern Play I decided to go a bit neutral and show how you can mix up fabrics that may look unrelated but relate to a color story. Let’s pretend that the room […]

Pattern Play: Greenhouse

The other day while walking the dogs I ran into this: Now most people might be upset that there is an eyesore on the side of your neighbors house, but I simply saw a mountain of chairs and things that I can recreate! I was so excited for trash day! Slowly all of the pieces […]

Trash to Treasure Jackpot!

I really like the idea of having a weekly schedule where I know exactly what I’m going to post about everyday. In hopes of trying to make a schedule happen I’ve been thinking of weekly features I can do. We already have the weekend recap on Mondays, Pattern Play on Thursday and IN HER SHOES […]

Look for Less: Lonny Bedroom

Inspired from my most recent style plan I had to share this recent find: It’s an indoor/outdoor rug and the suzani pattern is actually raised on the rug. The 8 x 10 version is only $203!

Great Buy: Suzani inspired rug

Lately I’ve found myself drawn to global interiors. I’m loving hand-printed fabrics and natural textures yet I’m still drawn to all of my old favorites like Hollywood Regency aka anything with greek key as Jon likes to note. 🙂 This latest e-decorating client was a dream, because she was on the same page as me. […]

Style Plan: Global Regency

I spent a while online trying to find a good tutorial on re-upholstery. So happy that one click lead to another, which lead to another, which lead me to Amy’s blog, Design Intervention. Last year she gave her readers a re-upholstery 101 class. She broke it down into 4 separate post and while the chair […]

Re-upholstery SOS

I have serious addition for collecting vintage chairs. I can never seem to pass them up when I visit my favorite thrift stores. The main problem with this addition is that my garage and basement is overflowing with chairs that need a whole bunch of TLC. For the past couple of months these chairs have […]

Weekend Recap: Camila vs. the chair!

This weeks featured ladies is one of my favorite bloggers, Kirsten from 6th Street Design School. We were both lucky enough to attend Nate Day and I was super bummed that I didn’t get to met her in person that day! Don’t fret though we are both heading to High Point next week so we […]

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
