HOW-TO-MAKE-AN-EASY-DIY-OUTDOOR-MOVIE-SCREEN-WITH-STAND

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]

I’m a huge lover of color, but I always find myself drawn to gallery walls that are full of neutral art pieces like the following: I love how all of the pieces look like they have been around for years. I always wonder where people find the artwork to go on these sort of gallery […]

Neutral Gallery Wall Artwork

These last couple of weeks my design plan for the nursery has finally started to come together. I had a hard time figuring out what direction I wanted to go in. Instead of going with a room that screamed boy I simply wanted a room that screamed happy! Can’t wait to spill the details on […]

Baby Talk: Nursery Before

Hi All, I hope you all had an uneventful weekend. Here on the east coast we were hit with Hurricane Irene. At first I was calm about it then started to get really nervous about it due to all of the news coverage. Here in NY we got hit the hardest during the night/early morning […]

IN HER SHOES: Material Girls

I love getting mail. I mean actual physical letters/catalogs that arrive at my doorstep. I don’t care how random the catalog I always tend to open them and give them a little look. I’m so happy I took time to flip through Country Door. I must say that  I originally judged the catalog by it’s […]

Shop Girl: Country Door

If you have taken a peek at my about me page then the images I’m about to show you won’t surprise you, but if you haven’t here is a peek at it so we can all be on the same page: If you read the section on the summer of 1992 you will see that […]

about me

My first design decision…

Yesterday I let you guys in on the little secret that I finally found a new living room rug! At first I felt a little silly purchasing a rug for a main room in my house from a catalog that was geared towards teens but, I’m so happy that opened it and embraced my inner […]

PB Lattice Rug is mine all mine…

For over a year now I’ve been searching for a new rug for our living room. Originally my living room was done in a brown/white/orange/blue color combo and then before even finishing it I decided I was over it and went with a totally different color story. The new main attraction in the room is […]

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
