What a great post! And Charlotte is sooooo cute!

  6. Another happy Volvo owner…I will drive this car until the wheels fall off. What a fun series! Love darling Bryn and bitterly jealous of her Eames chair. Happy to have found your lovely blog!

  7. I love these “In Her Shoes” posts. It is so fun for me to see how other designers go about their day and their businesses. I’ve noticed that all of you are much more early-to-bed and early-to-rise people. I figured since Bryn didn’t have kids yet (neither do I) she might be more of a night owl. I stay up till 2 and don’t start my day till 9.

    Keep em’ coming. Thanks.

  8. Love the post! I’ve been reading Bryn’s blog for several months now. I am currently working a 9-5 job and longing to do design full time as well. It’s encouraging to hear a success story! 🙂

How terrific! There is nothing like being your own boss. So glad she broke from the 9-5!

  11. Kristy Swain says:

I loved reading about her day! My favorite may have been the painter’s tape. I always insist clients do that even if we did a floor plan. You don’t want to order a piece to find out that it just isn’t quite the right scale and walkways are too small or things don’t flow like you thought.

  12. Aww, I would love days like that. I keep hoping something happens that will make it a smart decision to quit my job and try something new. Maybe one day 🙂

  13. Love this series. So fun to have a sneak peak into the real lives of these amazing designers! Thanks for sharing 🙂

What a great post and a great series! I’d love to know what shoes Bryn’s wearing in the Storage Wars photo. They look so comfy and chic!

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
