I’ve been working on a couple of rooms designed with a young lady in mind. One of my favorite things to recommend for these rooms are fashion illustrations. Fashion illustrations are a bit girly, but they are also chic and grown up at the same time.

Here are some of my favorite go-to fashion illustrators:
1. Jessica Durrant creates beautiful watercolor illustrations. Prints can be picked up for $25.
2.Kathryn Elyse works in watercolor, ink, and pencil. Prints can be picked up for $20.
3.Esther Bayer creates original drawings based on vintage Vogue magazine covers. Prints can be picked up for $30.
4. Vanessa Datorre creates fashion illustrations in colorful settings. Posters can be picked up starting at $18.
5 .Lisa from Sketch & Pixel works in watercolor and pencil and recreates scenes from Gossip Girl. Prints available for $25.
6. Inslee has been a long time favorite of mine. Not only does she have a variety of fashion illustration prints available for purchase ($20 a print), but she also does custom illustrations.
You can either use prints from the same illustrator for a uniformed look or mix up the illustrations and add additional art pieces for a more eclectic look. It’s up to you.
Any fashion illustrators on your radar that I should know about?

I love those fashion Illustrations! I’ve drawn and painted a few vintage illustrations for my own living room and love how they look! Very Chic idea for little girls and big girls alike!
So cool. I also love the chairs flanking the front of the wall. So pretty!
LOVE fashion illustrations as art in the home. I have some original watercolors in my guest room and picekd up some Vogue covers in Paris when I was 15.
Been reading for a while. I’m your newest follower!

I’m a huge fan of this idea. I’ve done it in my daugther’s room with images from costume designers….we have two originals! I love how they work for gals of all ages. The ones in my daugther’s room will grow with her…love that! Can’t wait to see your final project.
I also used fashion illustrations in my daughters room. we purchased the 2010 barbie calendar and picked out our 10 favorites to hang above her bed. Probably a cheaper option than you are showing but still creates the same elegant look.
i cant wait to see how this room turns out!!
A kind of funky alternative to the illustrations could be framed vintage pattern envelopes.
I found a few the other day from the fifties that I’m considering framing for my dressing area, next to my closet door. They make me smile. Wish I had that waist!
What kind of message does that send our daughters though when the pictures are very, very thin women striking a pose. As a former model way way back in the 70s — I would say mix it up with athletes (they are so beautiful now) and a hero(ine) of your own — or two! I raised my own beautiful daughter who is now an attorney.
YES!! As a drawer myself, I have been debating on doing my own. Back in high school everyone knew I could draw and would always draw ladies in fly clothes. I love the idea for a dressing room personally.
Oww wooww thanks for sharing my work
