The blog world is full of tutorials for DIY upholstered headboards. I myself have made them out of a crib rail (It’s a super easy project & great for families that have out grown cribs.)
We have also tackled building our own completely upholstered bed:
{Ah sweet Hudson when he was a couple of days old.}
Both projects were easy, but the second one required a lot tools that many people don’t own.
Today I found a great website called Ready to Cover where you can purchase a wooden headboard precut and on legs. This cuts some of the steps out in most of the DIY headboards out there and helps you if you don’t have certain tools.
Here are the shapes they are available in:
My favorite shape has to be the Marseille style:
The best part? They are only $177 (with free shipping!) for the Queen size, which is standard for most people. So amazing. You can still costs by covering it yourself and making your headboard a partial DIY project.

What a fabulous suggestions. I love the look , but am always short on time for DIYs. Bookmarking…now! xo

This is so helpful. Do they sell the padding? Thanks so much for sharing.
!!! I make headboards all the time for people. This is almost worth it. The hard part is all the cutting of the wood. Amazing resource.
