HOW-TO-MAKE-AN-EASY-DIY-OUTDOOR-MOVIE-SCREEN-WITH-STAND

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]

This has to be one of my favorite DIY projects to date. I love getting custom window treatments for my clients, but typically when it comes to my own personal project I don’t have a whole lot of wiggle room for them. I like to leave the serious stuff to the pros, but I knew […]

Revisited: DIY Cornice boards

When I re did my second bedroom and turned it into an office/guest bedroom one of the main pieces in the room was a large massive memo board behind the day bed. Now buying something that large would have been very expensive so DIY made it possible to get the same look. Since homasote is […]

If bloggers ruled the world….

I get numerous questions from readers asking me about the current state of certain DIY projects that I have tackled from my DIY library. I decided to take some time out this week to revisit some of these projects. Two years ago I was inspired by this kitchen floor designed by Windsor Smith. I was […]

Revisted: DIY Painted Wooden Floor

Before I became a mom I really had no idea what to put on my registry. I did some research and I think I came up with a good assortment of items, but until you come home with that baby you have no idea exactly what you’ll need/use. Some of the must have items people […]

Sneak Peek #4: One Kings Lane

While my typical style is happy, bright and pattern filled fabrics I do tend to have a bit of an eclectic hippie style, which seems to surprise some people, but to me it’s just my effortless style. The inner boho chic girl in me has always had a soft spot in her heart for Katsugi […]

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
