At Home: Fig & Olive Restaurant

I recently filled out a questionnaire for a new partnership (more details at the end of the month) and one of the questions was about my favorite restaurant. My favorite restaurant has to be Fig & Olive which uses the countryside of France as it’s inspiration for food and restaurant decor. Delicious, right?

Fig & Olive:

{ I always feel like I’m waiting into a set from a Nancy Meyers movie when I walk thru their doors.}

Today One Kings Lane started a new sale showcasing items from Provence that was inspired by the one and only Martha Stewart. With the help of the items in their saleI was able to put together some tips to help you entertain in Provence at home.

Tip 1: Have a feminine touch in the space.

Now this doesn’t mean you have to go all girly and dress your room in ruffles and pink. What it means is that you should pay attention to what you are putting in the space and make sure amongst the hard lines that many furniture pieces contain you get a dose of girly in the room. This can simply be done by using a feminine goblet like the ones pictured above that flare just a slight bit or if you want to go bolder use a large furniture piece with a feminine leg like the dining room table.

Tip 2: Look to Nature.

When picking out your color palette the great outdoors in your main source of inspiration. Use greenery indoors as accent with your dining room chairs or even add a plant or two like small potted herb plants. For your neutral color in the space I would look towards stones for your inspiration and pick up pieces like your napkins, candlestick holders and bakers twine decor in a greige color.

Tip 3: Add a small dose of industrial or re-purposed items to the space.

If you add more than one or two pieces than you are going to lean towards a look that scream industrial chic and that is not the look we are going for. Add a piece or two that looks like it came out of an old French barn/vineyard and was then re-purposed is the exact look we are going for. A statement wire basket chandelier or small basket used a water carafe are exactly what we need to continue to set the scene.

Tip 4: Food!

No need to be a top chef contender in order to entertain your guests in a French Provence style. The key to mostly anyone’s heart is food and sometimes the basics are the best thing you can serve. Start out with some wine, add some cheeses placed on a chalkboard slab along with bread, bread and some more bread and you’ll have some happy guests.

All of these items and much more are part of the Entertaining en Provence sale currently running on One Kings Lane. All of One Kings Lane sales run for 72 hours, but if you use the links provided in this post the sale will be available for 27 days! Don’t take too long to hit the trigger on an item though, because tend to sell out quickly on One Kings Lane.

Please remember that One Kings Lane is invitation only. If you need an invitation head over to sign up and start shopping.

    The restaurant looks amazing. One of the things that gets me to try a restaurant is the ambience. there’s nothing quite like eating delicious food in a beautiful setting and Fig and Olive seems like a restaurant i’d enjoy dining in very much. Those are nice items on sale, I hope the price range is similar to the prices here.
