HOW-TO-MAKE-AN-EASY-DIY-OUTDOOR-MOVIE-SCREEN-WITH-STAND

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]

For this weeks You did what I decided to head to one of my favorite products from Staples and check out what some people have tackled with a simple sharpie marker. Here are some of my favorites: DIY wallpaper by Shannon Berrey: DIY snow leopard bulletin board by Cottage and Vine: DIY Les Touches fabric […]

You did what…Sharpie for Home Decor

I’ve blogged about my love of black botanical charts in the past and the cheapest I’ve been able to find reproductions has been $98. Don’t they look great in a room? {Image via House to Home} Last week I was at Ikea picking up some items for an install and on my way out of […]

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. We got lots done this weekend, but I must say the number one thing on everyone’s mind was Hurricane Sandy. Here is a peek into what we accomplished: Hudson went to guppie class number 2 and he loved it! He spent the entire splashing water everywhere. My […]

Time for another addition of Mini me decorating with Julia. Today we are tackling our updated take on the typical go-to girl color, pink. Mini Me Decorating: Pretty in Pink meets Blue

The one item that I couldn’t get out of my mind from Marlien Rentmeesters home office was her I LOVE LA pillow. A quick search gave me the source for the pillow and I found out they even have a NY version that I would love to treat myself to. Want to get Marlien’s look […]

Treat yo self: I LOVE NY

I’m loving my new series, You did what? It’s been fun to search the web and find unique ways that people have tackled DIY projects. It made me realize that I never shared my favorite unique DIY project. It’s from a couple of years ago, but it’s still a favorite of mine. My sister had […]

You did what? Electrical tape striped wall

One of my favorite spreads from Lonny is the feature on Marlien Rentmeester, West Coast of Lucky magazine and the blogger behind Le Catch. She is lucky enough to call interior designer Hillary Thomas and a friend and her personal interior designer. My favorite room in the whole house is her office: {Image via Lonny} […]

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
