I’m so happy to share with you all that I’m going to be part of a new program called Happy by Design with HomeGoods!
{Decorative dish & vase from HomeGoods}
I’m part of 10 member team of interior designers that are going to be pinning our favorite HomeGoods finds and show pinterest followers how we style them in our or in client projects.
I’m a huge fan of HomeGoods and my house is full of their finds. They are the perfect store to find classic and trendy pieces for your home. Plus there is always a thrill when you find some crazy designer name item for a steal.
This month I’m going to be pinning examples of my HomeGoods finds that show off transitional design, which is when traditional and contemporary design meet.
I was just at my local store checking out their latest items and I found a couple of examples that fit with transitional design.
Take a peek at my shopping trip:
{Traditional all white dinnerware gets an update with geometric trim! The bowl with the orange trim promptly went into my shopping cart.}
{Traditional all wood furniture is a thing of the past this media cabinet gets an updated look with a white lacquered frame.}
{Traditional wooden bistro chairs get an update with metal and a rustic paint job. Plus the $79 price tag doesn’t hurt.}
{Damask is a very traditional pattern, but it’s given a contemporary update on this chair with raised velvet and nailhead trim.}
{I was never one for table runners, but boy have they come a long way Such chic patterns and cool detailing work like the ribbon caned version above. At only $12.99 they are a steal and would work well on a table/console or even to make a pillow or two.}
I always managed to come home with a couple of goodies for myself to style up some rooms in my house. Stay tuned for further updates.
Hope you head over to Pinterest and follow along on the fun!

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]
Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]
For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
