HOW-TO-MAKE-AN-EASY-DIY-OUTDOOR-MOVIE-SCREEN-WITH-STAND

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]

We were lucky enough to have Jon home for a couple of days at the end of the week so our weekend was a bit longer than most. We got to enjoy lots of time with Hudson and were even able to take him to the Bronx Zoo! He loved seeing all of the animals […]

Overstock can be overwhelming with it’s massive amounts of pages of items. Let’s face it there are a lot of questionable design items on the site, but it’s still one of my first stops when I’m working with clients on a budget. You never know what you are going to find and the prices are […]

Scenes from my weekend…

Back in April I worked on adding a little bit of design touches to Jon’s man den. In came a new throw, some toss pillows and a new piece of extra large artwork that we hung for pennies. I always wanted to add sconces to the sides of the picture, but couldn’t find anything I […]

Treat yo self: Lighting

Hi All, Sorry for the delay in posts this week. Looks like someone decided he doesn’t need to be 2 in order to act like a terrible two and I have been dealing with lots of tears, tantrums, throwing of items, etc. To top everything off it looks like Hudson is also dealing with getting […]

Style Plan: Nursery to Toddler Room for Little Girl

{Image from here.} This week I fell in love with this rug. In our next house I would definitely love a library and I would use this rug and pair it with some dark peacock blue walls. I checked out Lindsay’s feature on Glitter Guide and fell in love. Lindsay and I have been blogger […]

As an interior decorator and blogger I’m constantly picking up home accessories when I see a good sale or the perfect find from a thrift store. If I don’t need it or have a home for it right away I always buy it and store it my accessories closet. This way when I have a […]

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
