Everyone loves a custom gift plus if you can save a few bucks in the process than it’s a win, win. This week I will be sharing a bunch of easy and budget friendly gifts that you can tackle on your own.
First project up is DIY polka dot wine glasses. This is such an easy project and you can go as crazy or tame as you like with your design.
All you need for this project is:
-WINE GLASSES: I picked some pretty ones with a gold rimmed at The Dollar Tree
–Martha Stewart Multi-Craft Paint
-Pencil
-Rubbing Alcohol (not pictured)
-Oven (not pictured)
Step 1: Before you start make sure to wipe glasses down with rubbing alcohol to remove fingerprints and let dry for 30 mins.
Step 2: Time to paint! You can do any type of design you like, but since I’m a polka dot lover I decided to go a bit dot crazy with these glasses. Use a pencil eraser to get the perfect circle.
Make sure to go light when adding paint to the eraser. This will help peaks from forming on your dots when you lift your eraser up.
{Truth be told I still got a couple of little peaks, but I just pretended they were character and handmade and kept going. Easy breezy.}
Step 3: Let paint dry overnight and then to speed up the curing process place in oven for 30 mins at 350 degrees.
So pretty and so easy! I love the mix of the mint paint with the gold rim. They go perfectly in my bar cart. Of course you can use whatever shade of paint you like. A gold or black would make for a great neutral gift. Add a bottle of wine and you are all set!
Love this idea and love the outcome! Also love how you staged the pictures with the awesome xmas basketweave ribbon, ornaments and coffee mug! (PS, love that jonathan adler set)
Super cute! Can’t wait to see what you make next. I appreciate that you break down your steps; both by writing the steps and posting photos. Thank you.
Wow! I saw the title of this blog post and thought, “Whatever! I have seen DIY glasses and they look awful! What is she doing?! We aren’t going to DIY wine glasses!” I stand corrected.
These. Are. Amazing.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]
Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]
For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
