HOW-TO-MAKE-AN-EASY-DIY-OUTDOOR-MOVIE-SCREEN-WITH-STAND

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]

This week I finally got hit with that bug that has been going around that I had been trying like crazy to avoid. My poor little hands were red and raw from all of the hand washing I did. After a couple of days out of commission and spending most of the day in bed […]

Friday finds…

I don’t know about you, but lately all of my photos end up on my computer and cell phone and never actually get printed. One of my favorite things to do at my parents house is to go through old photo albums. It’s always fun to see old haircuts, different trips we went on, etc. […]

Treat yo self: Photos

Over the weekend my sister and I were talking about tea and what makes a perfect cup. When she was living in London last year she had contests with her flatmates over who made the best cup.  I’m a tea drinker, but honestly I had never really given much thought into how I made it […]

An effortless cup of tea…

One of my favorite parts about traveling is getting to pop into shops that I don’t have at home. We didn’t have a lot of free time in Bogota, but while we out to lunch one day I stumbled upon a Zara Home. It’s one of those stores that I always check out online so […]

A Peek Into ZARA HOME

Happy Monday All! Hope you all had a great weekend. We actually went away last week to visit some family in Colombia and then headed for a little fun in the sun in Cartagena! We started our trip in Bogota and were surprised to be met with really sunny weather. My favorite part of the […]

about me, weekend recap

Scenes from my vacation…

Sometimes all a room needs for a little refresher is new toss pillows! Patterns are always great, but they can come off as trendy sometimes and you may bore easily. Love injecting rooms with solid colored pillows in bold colors to help switch up a space. These beautiesstart at only $14 for sizes 12″x 12″ […]

Treat Yo Self: Pillow Talk

As a working designer in the suburbs of NYC many of my clients are dealing with teeny tiny spaces. Many times you are dealing with one main room that is functioning as a bedroom, dining room, living room, and even kitchen! This is the time when hiring a designer becomes a must, because they can […]

Small Spaces: Thinking outside the box

In love with these candy coated chests from Grandin Road. The high gloss intense color, the brass pulls and the interesting detailing on the drawer fronts make it a win, win for me. It would be perfect in an entry way, bedroom, or office. Available in lemon yellow, hibiscus pink and lime green for $399.

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
