HOW-TO-MAKE-AN-EASY-DIY-OUTDOOR-MOVIE-SCREEN-WITH-STAND

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]

One of my favorite baby gifts to give to new parents are dohars from Mela & Roam. Dohars are thin blankets that are constructed of 3 layers of mulmul cotton. There is a pattern that is hand stamped on the middle layer so it peeks through the top and bottom layer. Each dohar is completed […]

Treat Yo Self: Dohars

One of my favorite parts of designing is getting to work with fabrics. I love all of the choices that are out there. It’s really fun to layer different patterns together and make it all work. It’s one of the best parts of my job. Here is a current scheme I just finished up. Floral […]

Fabric Scheming: Apriot, Cream & Teal

I don’t have a Kirkland’s location near me, but I do try to check in online every couple of weeks to see what’s new. There tends to be a lot of stuff that is not very “me”, but after doing a little online browsing I always find a couple of gems. Here are my current […]

Top 5 favorites from Kirkland’s

Our weekend started on the early side this week, because we had a wedding to attend. It was nice to get out and go on a little date, but we did miss the boys and wished we were with them too. My family was invited to this wedding as well and my sister was in […]

about me, weekend recap

Scenes from my weekend…

I’ve been feeling a bit blah lately. Faced with having to lose 20 pounds of baby weight that doesn’t seem to want to come off while breast feeding I decided to tweak things yesterday. Off I went with a photo of Penelope Cruz to get some caramel highlights. I’m happy with the results and had […]

From the ladies that bought you the new and improved friendship bracelets from our youth complete with vintage jewels I bring you their new collection of tassel earrings. {Coral Tassel Earrings} {Turquoise Tassel Earrings} {Neon Tassel Earrings} {Crazy Quirky Carefree earrings} Totally fun and completely unnecessary, but I would still love to treat myself to […]

Treat Yo Self: Frieda and Nellie

I love a good solid colored fabric used in a room, but some times you want something with a little more oomph, but not too distracting. This is the reason why so many designers love Betwitx by Schumacher. The only problem is that because it’s to the trade it can be a bit on the […]

I fell in love with Caitlin McGauley’s illustrations years ago when she started working with LONNY Her work is so beautiful and full of whimsey and color. Plus she is an elephant lover like me so it’s always fun to check out her elephant print. The version on her site is no longer available, but […]

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
