Apparently there is a big game this weekend. In this household we are not big football watchers and I luckily married a man who is more obsessed with the outdoors then sports. Even though we won’t be watching the game it was the perfect excuse to try out a new version of pigs in a blanket.
I mean pigs in a blanket are pretty perfect in themselves, but lets update things a bit with a pretzel version! It is literally so simple and only adds one additional step than traditional pigs in a blanket.
Step 2: Cut up your hot dogs and start rolling!
Step 3: Boil water and add 1/4 of baking soda. Once your dogs are all rolled up just place them in boiling water for 30 seconds.
Step 4: Take pigs in a blanket and place them on cookie sheet. Coat with a light egg wash and sprinkle kosher salt on top of it. Bake at 425 for 15 mins.
Step 5: Enjoy!
I had extra dough leftover so I even made some funky looking yet delicious pretzels as well.
