Ok, so you guys all got to see the Troop Catskills welcome totes. Now you get to see where we stayed! My sister is the best at finding super cool places to stay and she did not disappoint. After a massive search in the Catskill area she found Foxfire Mountain House.
Foxfire Mountain House is a 10 acre estate that is nestled in the mountains of the Catskills. The owners are a husband and wife team. Tim is a chef and his wife Eliza is a former HGTV producer. They bought the inn in 2013 and have been restoring it to all of it’s glory.
It was seriously heaven on earth and I have been toying with different reasons for why I need to go back ASAP! I have been hinting heavily that it would be the best Mother’s Day/ Birthday gift ever. Let’s see if my hints work, because I have been dreaming of the apple cake that Tim makes for breakfast.
I took a million and one photos because I knew you would all love it!
They have a lily pond on the property:
Chic and rustic outdoor lounge area with a sauna!
Fire pit for s’mores making.
Once you walk in you are met with the prettiest shade of pink on the walls and lovely rustic decor throughout. I seriously felt like I was walking into an Anthropologie catalog, but it was even better!
I think my favorite part of the house has to be the dining area which you get to by going through these lovely french doors made out of old windows.
You can rent out the whole inn and then this stunning dining room is all to yourselves. Eventually this will be opening up as a little cafe.
Cool tile wall with a view to the kitchen. Tim will prepare a wonderful breakfast for you in that amazing kitchen.
The living room area is also on the main floor:
It’s full of windows and large enough that it’s actually split up into two separate areas. One seating area by the fireplace and then an additional seating area behind the fireplace where the vintage record player resides.
Isn’t that vintage yellow sofa amazing! It’s one of two on the property!
On the main floor there is also an outdoor space full of different seating areas, additional fire pits on the lawn and twinkly lights that look amazing at night.
The rest of the house is full of bedrooms. There are so many to pick from, but they are all bright and airy with handcrafted beds and super comfy mattresses that everyone was raving about.
The second yellow sofa:
There are two bathrooms with en suites that are just as bright and airy as the rooms with pretty Moroccan tile.
The second level of the house contains more bedrooms and a cool seating lounge.
The nice part of the bedrooms updates is that some of the rooms have additional seating areas like this cool daybed that was tucked into one of the rooms.
I seriously have photos of every little nook in the house, but I won’t bore you with all of them since this is such a photo heavy post.
Stay tuned for a peek into the cabin that is also on the property this afternoon!
Oh my gosh! I’m pretty sure I have that same vintage gold sofa!! We really don’t have room for it in our 1,000 sq ft studio, but I adore that sofa. It is at my mom’s, right now and I struggle with wanting to reupholster it even though I absolutely love the gold.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]
Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]
For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
