This was a fun pattern play to tackle because I got to go a little bolder than I normally do. Correction I would go this bold in my own home, but with clients I tend to tone it down a little. This pattern play though was for a client requesting a little help in zhushing up her teen daughters bedroom situation. Pretty much I was just asked to tackle the actual bed area so here are my picks:
The large floral is Floribunda by Clarke & Clarke. It is the prettiest floral fabric. I’m in love with. It’s full of pinks, purples, orange and cobalt blue. Swoon. This fabric pick is going to be used for a headboard!
Next I recommend doing two euro size (26″ x 26″) pillows in Plaid Ikat in melon by Robert Allen. It’s another favorite of mine because of it’s large scale and since it’s not a traditional plaid it doesn’t lean too country. The ikat vibe to it makes it more current. I would then add a box trim border on the pillow in cobalt blue grosgrain ribbon.
I would also layer on some additional 18″ x 18″ pillows in Saint Remy by Manuel Canovas.(purple small print fabric) Let me tell you if you have the budget you must pick up some fabric from Manuel Canovas. It is all made in Paris and they have some of the most stunning patterns in amazing color palettes. These would get piped in gloss tango by Diane Von Furstenberg for Kravet. It is a perfect shade of poppy.
Lastly I would use that amazing gloss tango again for a 14″ x 26″ lumbar pillow to finish off the whole look.
Pair it with some crisp white bedding complete with dark gray piping and we have a stunning new bedroom look!
