Time and time again you scroll thru blogs and pinterst and see how someone revamped a vintage piece of furniture with a new paint job, knobs, etc to give it a brand new look! In the past I have done that as well, but it’s also nice to find a vintage piece that you can leave as is. There is something to be said about a piece with patina and when a piece is designed and constructed well it will stand the test of time.
Case in point this beautiful chair that I picked up at a local thrift store for $12.99.
It was literally meant for my living room, which already features a good amount of yellow and green. Plus the caning and fretwork design details we a perfect addition to the space.
Check out the details:
Love all of it! The only thing I would essentially change is the seat cover fabric. It looks like it has gotten faded by the sun in some spots.
I have been toying with these two fabrics:
But honestly I really think it will look best with a solid kelly green or emerald fabric like the original. I’m on the hunt for the perfect solid green fabric? Any favorites I need to check out?
What do you do when you get a vintage piece in your home? Revamp it or keep it as is?
