Making friends as an adult can be super hard. Luckily having a blog makes things a little easier. Last year while I was waiting for Hudson outside of his class a fellow mom (Hi Melissa!) was just leaving her mommy and me class and spotted me in the hallway. She was a blog reader and when she saw Hudson she knew it had to be me! We quickly became fast friends and when I found out she was pregnant I knew I had to design the nursery!
We are still in the process of finishing up the nursery, but all of the big design decisions have been done and here is a peek into the pattern play we are using in the space.
I’m in love with this mix that includes cantaloupe orange, jade green and pink. It’s going to be perfectly girly and as a mom of two boys I’m super excited to see come together!
The main inspiration point for this pattern play was the floral fabric. Sadly I picked it up at the Duralee outlet years ago and it’s no longer available. It’s this amazing chintz from England that for some reason was hanging out in the outlet. I promptly picked up the whole bolt without knowing what I would do with it. We are going to use it for roman shades.
We are going to be flanking the roman shades with the jade green checkered gingham that I’m obsessed with. It’s perfection.
The striped fabric that perfectly coordinated with all of the colors we were using already is called Caribbean and we will be using it for accent pillows.
We wanted to add a bit of a modern touch so our final fabric is Vionnet by Jonathan Adler. Love the geometric/diamond pattern and the peeks of pink and orange!
Can’t wait to get this room photographed, but first we wait for the workroom to finish up all of the sewing.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]
Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]
For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
This toile with men beating each other is not for a baby!
They are actually practicing sparing, but don’t worry there are other parts of the fabric that don’t feature that scene and are baby appropriate.
