This was one of those weekends where I feel like I need another weekend just to recover. We just kept going and going!
On Saturday morning we were up and moving pretty early! You see I keep waking up in a bed with 3 men. To some that my sound spicy and exciting, but I’m exhausted! Neither one of the boys are in a crib anymore so throughout the night they wake up and crawl into our bed. This means that Jon and I end up partially on our nightstands and wake up more exhausted then we when we went to bed. We don’t know what to do about it. We have talks with the boys about only coming in when the sun comes up, but that only works every once in a while. We tried locking our door so they couldn’t get in, but that just meant that they screamed outside of our door and we were so tired that we gave in and let them in. We want to take back our bed! Any tips from fellow parents would be welcomed!!!
We headed out to a friends house (Hi, Melissa) so that I could install some items in her newborns nursery, but really I just wanted to snuggle with baby Clio. She is delicious and I love her. She is teeny and perfect and the boys adore her just as much as me. Perhaps we need our own little lady in our house.
Here are some of the goodies for her nursery:
First Asher had to test out the glider:
Guys, it’s leopard print with peach accents and I love it!
Aren’t these blush scones. Check out that mint colored wiring!
We also installed these paper flowers. They are handmade and in a variety of sizes and stunning.
Isn’t she lovely decal looked perfect centered in between our flowers.
When I was done in the nursery I popped into my friends, older daughters room and found this! Yup that’s Hudson in their snuggling with my friends little lady. They take some classes together so I guess they are really comfortable with each other. Haha.
We spent the rest of the day looking for more houses. I keep saying that I’m going to take a break from looking, but then I’m afraid “the” house will show up when I’m not looking and then I will miss out. So, I can’t stop looking!
There really weren’t any winners at all on Saturday, but I was the most intrigued by this house from the listing. It really did look like the Father of the bride house I want, but the outside was a mess and the inside wasn’t any better. I could look past all that, but it was a little over our budget and then the taxes were crazy so I had to let the dream go.
On Sunday we went went canoeing! Here we were getting ready to head out!
We had a lovely day out on the water!
We even bought my sister and her hubby with us as well.
We were out most of the day and then enjoyed some food at a nearby town.
It was a long jam packed weekend! A little work and a little fun.
I have been trying to talk Jon into this. He thinks it’s the same thing as saying you can get up when the sun comes up so he isn’t into the idea. I think it would work.
We have an 8 year old who likes to come in to sleep with us – we have a queen so there is no way two adults and an 8 year old fit in the bed, comfortably. I made a rule that she can come in during the night but is not allowed to wake me up, unless she’s sick or scared. Two, I just leave a pillow and blankets on the floor next to my side. She’s pretty good about it now since she knows it is an option and understands that Mama is not cranky when she gets up if she gets her 7 hours of sleep so it’s a win for all three of us.
We tried that because we have a loveseat at the end of our bed, but they always wonder out of it and into our bed and then they still aren’t sleeping in their own beds.
Camila,
I tried a reward system to help with sleeping through the night. I printed out a calendar for the fridge and we put a sticker on each day that she didn’t come into mom and dad’s room in the middle of the night. Then in x amount of days/stickers she could get a special treat/toy. You may want to try gradually increasing the timespans of the rewards. Hope this helps 🙂
Love your blog! I was going to say the same thing Maddie wrote about the reward chart. We did this with our 3 year old. For each night she stayed in her bed all night she got a sticker on her “sleep chart” (a simple piece of paper with grid marks.) After 2 weeks she got a prize of her choosing. Worked like a charm. Good luck! A well rested mom is important for everyone! 🙂

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]
Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]
For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
Try the “OK to Wake” clock – it gives little kids a better sense of time, without having to be able to tell the time yet. Good luck!

I was thinking of doing this. I did something similar for potty training and it worked.
