Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday! The weather is perfection, the menu is all of my favorite things and it’s all about family and no stress with gifts. It’s also the anniversary of when Jon and I started dating! This year will celebrate being together for 17 years! Madness!
I have yet to host Thanksgiving, but I love setting the perfect table for the main event. I came up with a concept last week and then picked up my supplies this weekend. I wanted to make the set up easy to pick up at local stores so, that you wouldn’t need to worry about shipping.
I went with farmers market theme. Now, I don’t go crazy with themes, but I do like to have a common thread that makes everything go together. I was also able to keep my tablescape bold and colorful with my textile picks.
I picked up a basket at a thrift store and filled it with flowers to go with my farmers market theme. Then I picked up broadcloth fabric at JoAnn’s in my green and plum. A perfect color combo for fall!
My main star was flowers. What can I say I think I must have been a floral designer in a past life! I just love fresh flowers. I normally order flowers from my floral wholesaler, but I wanted this to be accessible to everyone. The peonies and kale were picked up at Whole Foods and the sunflowers and greenery were picked up at Trader Joes.
Ok, so I did order one thing in advance! These adorable gingham napkins. I picked them up in September because I knew they would work perfectly with a fall tablescape.
I wanted a rustic cheese board for the table, but they are pricey and I didn’t already own one. So, I went to Michaels and I picked up some wooden plaques for $8.99 and used those instead.
I picked up some cheeses at Trader Joes along with almonds and cranberries and cheese straws. In keeping with my farmers market theme I used little terra cotta pots for the cranberries and mini galvanized buckets for the almonds. They were also picked up at Michaels.
I also picked up some sweets at Trader Joes and used my buffet for dessert table set up.
I also picked up some kraft pie holders from Target’s dollar spot. So cute and perfectly in theme and will totally be used! Not sure if they are still available at Target, but you can order these online.
The best part of my floral centerpiece is that it contained a little surprise!
Inside the basket I had individual bouquets in mason jars so, that each dinner guest could bring one home!
Now I kinda wish I was hosting! What are you doing this year? Hosting or are you a going to be a guest elsewhere.

Thanks Jennifer! I loved the mix of the bold plum and the yellow sunflower and it was so fun to add kale into the mix. I might not eat it, but it sure makes for a pretty floral arrangement.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]
Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]
For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]

Thanks Donna! I love to live life more colorfully!
What pretty colors, and those flowers are glorious!
