I love working on tween aged kids room. They tend to be more adventures with color and you know I love that so it’s a win, win. Check out the this latest pattern play.
My main inspiration for the space was this amazing Butterfly print by Lulu DK. It’s one of my favorite patterns. I love a little bit of whimsy and these butterflies are done so well that they can work in a child’s space just as well as a teen or even an adult space. I would use this for a upholstered headboard.
I would then add pinch pleat panels for the windows in Happy Plaid that is part of the Lilly Pulitzer collection for Lee Jofa.
I would do euro shams for the bed in Spotted Cat, which is designed by Diane Von Furstenberg. Got to school our youth on designer icons early on. I would complete them with custom dip dyed tassels!
Then I would add additional pillows in Gumdrop stripe that is part of the Kate Spade collection for Kravet. Obsessed with this fabric!
Upholstered bench at the end of the bed would be covered in Dyer in the Orchid colorway.
The desk chair for this tween will be covered in this stunning velvet by Duralee in citron.
Can’t wait to see what they do in the space! For these pattern plays I always give my suggestions on what I would do, but in the end it’s up to the client to decide how they want to use them.
