Ask and you shall receive. Lately on stories I have been getting a lot of people messaging me about what I’m wearing. I will never be a fashion blogger, but I have decided to get over my dislike of photos of myself and do more fashion posts! I think my interior design style and fashion style translate well with each other and I’m happy to share clothing finds that I’m loving. I have a hard time shopping for my body frame and I’m sure others feel the same. So, if I can help anyone else out then I’m happy to pose for a photo and also scream at Jon when he doesn’t get the shot I envisioned in my head. Totally kidding about the screaming part, but he might disagree.
This past weekend we ventured into Connecticut and did a little sight seeing around Darien at Rowayton. How I have never been to Rowayton is beyond me. It’s a stunning seaside town and I was obsessed with every square inch of it. I’m already looking into house rentals for next summer.
The perfectly striped preppy skirt had arrived earlier in the week and I knew I just had to wear it. It was a great mix of nautical/summer. Ideally I had been dying for this skirt, but at close to $700 it wasn’t going to happen. Amazon has become my secret weapon when it comes to finding trendy clothes in an affordable price range and once again it did not disappoint with this striped swing skirts!!!! They even have it in this adorable gingham version. I also found this longer striped skirt that has currently been added to my shopping cart.
I’m in love and I have never gotten some many compliments on a skirt!
I love that it’s elastic, which makes it super comfy and how cute is the ruffle border that wraps around the skirt.
Girls, please tell me you are like me and love doing a good angle with your arm when you take a photo. Haha. Such a silly thing, but so many people do it to get a flattering shot. I paired my skirt with a sunny yellow t-shirt, tortoise shell sunnies and colorful flat sandals.
The last touch? My massive straw bag (similar version currently 50% off with code ENDOFSEASON)
I’m pretty obsessed with the whole look and looking forward to wearing the skirt again throughout the early Fall with a couple of adjustments.
So cute! I’d love to see how would you wear it for fall. I love the skirt but would want to be able to wear it this year and it’s already September… I never know what shoes to wear with maxis.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]
Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]
For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
You look adorable! Love it all & those cute sandals! You need to model more often!
I’m going to try!!! Already have my next outfit picked out!
Yes, girl, you’ve got to “teapot” for that toned arm look. We all do! 😉
Oh I like! I’m going to call it a teapot from now on!

Oh! That’s a good idea. Let me brainstorm a little figure what the Fall look would be.
