For months now I have been planning my sister’s bridal shower. During this entire wedding process my sister has been a bit of anti-bride and I have to bring her over to the lace and floral side so the whole bash actually ends up looking like a wedding. For her bridal shower she requested a unique event where she could just hang out with her friends and family and get excited about the big day. Yes, we would be showering her with gifts, but we really wanted to make the party more about a day where we could eat some good food, have some bubbly and enjoy the moment.
Now, the hunt for a different venue is never easy. All catering halls were out, which meant a search for restaurants. I found some good options in Manhattan, but the prices were crazy. I felt like I had to remind some that this was for a shower not the actually wedding.
After searching for weeks I found, The Love Shack in Brooklyn. The Love Shack is actually a private residence that belongs to Britta and Alexander Love a couple that left England in 2009 and built their dream here in Buswick, Brooklyn. They had a dream to try out their own take on loft living and build a home that could also function as a commercial space for events.
It was love at first sight for both of the mom’s and my fellow co-maid of honor when went to see it in person. We wanted the party to be completely girly and quickly a theme of bubbly, brunch, bride, and baubles came to be.
My amazing friend, Liz from Elizabeth Kristin Photography was there to capture the shower and I have pictures to share!
