Customized Maskros Light

  1. Oh…I have one of these- gold???? This has got my head spinning!!

  2. I contemplated it, but was afraid that the paint would make the flowers go limp. Maybe not now…..it does look wonderful in gold/bronze……..mind is spinning

  3. LOOOOVE! This could add the perfect sparkle to a room! I now need one 🙂

  4. I am dying for one of these light fixtures but don’t live near an Ikea and this isn’t one of their shipped items…BOOHOO! It really is a fantastic piece!

  5. Get Out!!! I have one and can’t believe I haven’t ever thought of painting it. This is fantastic. You have just opened a floodgate of hacks girl!

  6. Wow. This is genius. I would definitely go for this if my ceilings weren’t so low! Can’t wait to see more color versions of this, maybe!

  7. now THAT is a good idea! I’m a fan of painting light fixtures in general…

  8. We have the smaller one in our breakfast nook and after Mr H+F installed the zillion little paper flowers I looked up and said “I bet that would look awesome painted a bright yellow. Like a big psychedelic sunburst”. He just looked at me and said “I’m not taking down all those pieces so unless you can paint it on the ceiling, it’s staying white”. …womp, womp… Next time 🙂

  9. Ms. Bright says:

I have wanted to try that, but wondered how spraying the “petals” would work since they’re paper! Great inspiration pic!!

  10. Sara says:

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
