The one trend that I kept seeing time and time again at market was Suzani. I’m a huge fan of Suzani fabric so I love that the trend is still going strong. What I loved the most about it is that instead of just seeing it with ethnic/eclectic rooms I saw it in more bright and happy spaces that were traditional with a twist in style. I was in heaven.
Check out some of my favorites:
{We saw a lot of accents chairs in bold patterns. This Suzani number with nail head trim was one of my favorite.}
{Jewel tones were also in demand at market and these Suzani toss pillows showcased it the best.}
{Orange, blue and green! Oh my! Love that small bench! Looks like an easy DIY project and luckily I already have the supplies for it at home! Stay tuned.}
{Pink and Orange. Another classic color combo that I adore.}
{Painted furniture was also huge at market. This piece was a favorite of mine, because it contained the Suzani trend as well. Also enjoy the artwork above. Another take on using Suzani in a room.}
{This room showcased how I traditionally see Suzani fabric. Always mixed together with leathers, ikat and global finds. I’m still not tired of it.}
{To make this room even better is that we got to meet Suzanne Kasler who is super sweet and we had a lovely time discussing her new Suzani inspired fabric and how she made that cool memoboard with jute webbing.}
{Don’t you love the artwork in this set-up? It’s available via Natural Curiosities and the drool worthy fabric that we all love is available via Lee Jofa.Both are to the trade and be ordered through me if they strike your fancy.}
What do you think of this trend? Do you think it’s going out of style soon or is it a classic? In my book it’s a classic and I liked seeing it reinvented at market.
I love it used as an accent in a room. I’d be worried about doing either a large case or upholstered piece in it. That said, I love the bulletin boards and pillows.
I too love the Suzani trend and agree it is a classic. Your photos from market show it in fresh and re-interpreted ways which is the thing that gives it staying power.
Yes, I love suzani and totally agree with you that it’s here to stay! After all, it’s been around for hundreds of years. I love that Suzanne Kasler room, too, particularly the art above the bed – looks easy to make!
Great stuff — I just posted my daughter’s bday party….which of course I hosed down with pink and orange!
oh — and on to today’s post…speaking of elephants (bc you can’t escape them now!)…did you see the sneak peek of Calypso for Target line coming out May 1? Cute elephant tea pot!!!!!!! eeek

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]
Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]
For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
Love the Kasler space, especially that memo board! I like the idea that it may get covered up a bit but the perky pattern will still pop on the board.
How cool you got to meet her!
Love that ikat sofa and these round ups! Thanks for sharing Camila and happy Monday!
I love suzani, I actually don’t have any in my home but want some so sad. I think it is a classic as well 🙂
Yep – the Suzani never grows old for me. I simply love everything about it!
I adore suzani, and am looking for the perfect color combo for my living room. On another note, that ikat sofa…swoon!
Oh, the Natural Curiosities coral print is AMAZING! Any idea how pricey?
I love it used as an accent in a room. I’d be worried about doing either a large case or upholstered piece in it. That said, I love the bulletin boards and pillows.
How exciting, you got to meet Suzanne Kasler !

Wow so many amazing ideas!! I love the Jute binding used on the memory board so pretty 🙂
I love it best in the pillow you’ve shown! It looks fabulous!

I’ve never been into bold, graphic prints, but I can definitely get used to the orange and pink wonderfulness! What a refreshing print.
I like the throw pillows, since otherwise I don’t think I have the guts to try such a bold pattern in my home! But I certainly admire those who do. 🙂
Oh my gosh! I want one of everything. I am redoing my dining room/library, and those pillows and throws would just warm it up so much.
