It’s Sunday night and I’m exhausted. Where oh where do the weekends go and why do they go so quickly?
Here is what we tackled.
Became obsessed with my new fabric samples!
{A big thanks to Kylefor blogging about them and letting me become obsessed with this amazing fabric!}
I want to use a little of it in my bedroom. Anyone else want a yard of this fabric? They have a minimum in order to purchase and I don’t need 2 yards. Email me at camila@effortless-style.com if you want some.
I came home with lots of frames or a little project I’m working on in our second floor hallway!
{ Ribba 8 x 10and 4″ x 6″in high gloss red, which actually looks more like a bold orange so I went for it!
We also headed out for a fishing fair for Jon that was held at a local high school where Jon and I teared up even thinking about Hudson going to school one day.
Heading into the city for a design meeting:
Then rewarded myself with some fountain soda diet coke, which is my favorite and some yummy Mexican food.
When I got home I worked on some paint selections I needed to make. Working with Hudson is no easy feat. He jumped all over, helped me flip through books for paint ideas and even decided to dress me up with Jon’s hat.
Finished the night with some popcorn mixed with M&M’s my favorite movie watching snack and enjoyed watching Silver Linings Playbook.
On Sunday we couldn’t find any indoor play places with open play so we headed to take Hudson to Chuck E Cheese. Crazy experience. I don’t think I ever want to go back. Nuts!
After lunch and a trip to play with puppies at a pet store we ended up back at home where Hudson napped and I got to rearrange furniture in the living room.
{I found this awesome console on the street for free! It use to be by the front door, but now it’s by our staircase.}
This Parson style console that we built got moved by the front door:
{We are wrapping it in grasscloth! We tried wrapping it once now, but we used contact cement that was recommended, but it ruined the grasscloth so we need to order more now. Will do a tutorial once it’s wrapped up.}
Figured out framing for many prints that I need to hang.
I also added some peonies to the bathroom:
{ I did something I swore I would never do and picked up a bunch of faux peonies from the dollar tree! They are not in season yet so it’s hard to find them real and I needed to get my fix. Orange vase is an easy DIY project that I’ll be sharing later on.}
I love that you used naptime to rearrange furniture.
Yesterday my husband took our girls to skyzone; while he was gone I set the table with the fancy china and took pictures. He thought I was totally crazy!
Waiting on that grass cloth entry table tutorial. I have been trying to figure out how I could use the Ikea Malm occasional table in my front hall (perfect dimensions but the plastic white is a bit much for the space). You are so good at explaining things that I will go pick up the table and put it together but I won’t start the project until I know what to do.
Oh my, you make me feel so unproductive! I actually found myself saying yesterday, “what is it about the weekend that just makes me want to crash on the couch and watch tv all day?” So Curious George with the kids it was! Ugh. I justified my actions with the gloomy weather. (I did, however, have a huge hole knocked out in my living room wall last week to open up our space a bit and had a busy week of chasing kids and keeping them out of the mess). Next weekend- painting. No excuses!
Now that I think about it, do you have a favorite cream to gold shade? We currently have a buttercream shade that is starting to feel a little too yellow to me, so I’m wanting to go just a little more golden, but still want light and fresh AND versatile. Thoughts?
Oh how I love getting your blog post emails. You inspire me to be creative and not just sit and watch the toys pile up. As a mom to my now 4 yr. old son David, I love watching Hudson grow up. I find myself talking to you (crazy i know) throught the computer saying ,”oh just wait til…” I really want to make the grasscloth covered table but since I am completely void of any talent in that department ,I will look for one I can cover. Sorry I have never commented before, I should know better. But I do read your blog religiously.
Thank you for all the great inspiration!

That tulu textiles fabric is insanely gorgeous! How much is it? Where are you getting it from? I checked the site but they don’t sell online. Let me know! 😉

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]
Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]
For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]

I love those lampshades. I wish we had an ikea in Richmond. Our closest is about 1.5 hours away. They would be perfect lamps in my living room.

Great post! Loved reading about your weekend. Breakfast for dinner is always a favorite around here.

I was just in Ikea and missed those lamp shades somehow…so sad! (even more sad ikea is 4 hours away!). Love the free console too!

Love your blog! I have been eyeing those mini-prints. How are they framed? Did you do that? her etsy shop makes it look confusing how they come!
They are little stretched canvas frames with the artwork applied to the front.
