Ah Monday! Here we are once again. This weekend we tackled some home projects. We are getting ready to re-list our house and 7 plus years of living here has done it’s damage to our pretty trim. So, we have been using wood filler to fix any chips, sanding and this re-painting! We also finished re-painting our kitchen floor!
In between all of those fun home projects we did get to go out for a little. Saturday was mostly spent out of the house. We wanted to give the kitchen floor time to dry and cure without little helpers. Off we went to a fishing expo Jon wanted to check out in NJ. All of the Pavone men were in heaven!
Here are they are testing out some of the boats they had for sale.
The boys behaved pretty well, but towards the end we were all going a little kooky! We had a long car ride home, but luckily they passed out. When we got home this momma needed a little alone time and off I went to Nordstrom. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular, but I thought it would be fun to browse and see what spoke to me. I even shared all of my finds and what I liked/disliked on instagram stories. Are you following me yet? It’s so much fun! Lots of glimpses into design work and life. (Username: camilapavone)
My absolute favorite top was this beauty! It’s named Bernice and we are in a pretty serious relationship. I loved it, but not the price tag. Sadly, I left it behind.
I continued to wander Nordstrom and ended up in what use to be the gifts department, but is now know as the Home dept. A million years ago I worked in Nordstrom throughout college and gifts was one of the depts I worked in.
The pink pineapple mason jar caught my eye. Hello, it’s pink and a pineapple! Yes, please! Also loved the petite faux succulents. Lots of different options to pick from and a great price point.

Loved these ILLUME Candles. They would be such a great gift. The glass containers are so chic. Lots of different patterns to pick from.
They also had a massive Sugarfina display where you could mix and match your favorites for your own custom bento box.
They also had a big Sunnylife display that was full of chic pool floats and all of the accessories you need for a fun summer.
I think I deserve this Best Wife Ever desk plate, because I didn’t buy anything on my outing!!! Just lots of browsing!
On Sunday I mostly tackled design work. We did manage to head out for bagels in the morning and I got a smooch from this guy who really makes you work for them lately. He wanted my phone to watch a video so, I traded for a kiss.
How did you painted floor hold up, all these years later? When did it start to show a lot of wear, if at all?
Obviously you are repainting touch ups to sell, but would you do it again if you were staying?
According to the paint company it’s suppose to last forever, but I have a dog and two boys. So, that never happened with me. Ideally I could be repainting it yearly, but I have been doing it around every 2 years. I have tried putting a special poly over it, but that didn’t give me longer wear and it took way longer for it to seal. A gallon last a long time so to me it’s worth it to just repaint when the wear and tear gets too much for me. If you don’t have kids or animals then I think it would last younger.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]
Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]
For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
