I love picking up artwork. Even if I have no idea where it will go my etsy favorites and pinterest boards are filled with artist’s work that I hope to some day own. I know that at times they can be an investment, but to me they are worth it. I always buy something that evokes a feeling in me or commiserates a special occasion in my life. I also try and pick things that will stand the test of time. So, when I was picking out artwork for the boys room I made sure to pick something happy, colorful and whimsical, but it doesn’t scream kids room. So, when your kids are done with it you can move it to another place in your home and get more bang for your buck! So, here is what I did with our Gray Malin photography and how we took it from kids room to office.
Here it is featured in our old house:
I love elephants. They are a symbol of strength and power and a sign of good luck according to Feng Shui. That’s the main reason why I picked up Party at the Parker. I knew the boys would love it because they love animals and all of the colorful balloons. Win, win!
We are currently living with my parents while the house hunt continues. It’s been slim picking! We are hoping things pick up this Spring. But I’m not going to lie it’s been going pretty great at my parents house and we are as happy as can be! The boys have their own room here, but there really isn’t wall space for the beautiful Gray Malin, which meant that momma could borrow it for a bit!
With the move to my parents house I needed an office space and ended up with a studio space around 10 mins from the house in a super cute town’s main st. We have been finishing it up and now we are at the fun part, which is accessorizing!
I have desks set up to make it a co-working space! So, if you know anyone on the North Shore of Long Island that needs a work space and wants to mingle with other lady bosses have them contact me (camila@effortless-style.com).
Doesn’t it work perfectly? I have a lot of neutral/white pieces in the space, but I wanted pops of color and the photo doesn’t help tie everything together.
I even sprinkled another elephant or two into the desk set up.
Obsessed! It works perfectly in the two totally different spaces. Everyone that sees it is in enamored with it! I always get a big, “Wow, that’s awesome” when people see it.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]
Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]
For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]
