Into the woods…

I’m loving some elements of this house, and not loving others. I do love those windows, I could picture them in a two story foyer or family room, with the windows opening up to a great room above, it would be so pretty! Great post!

I feel the same way as you guys. Some things about it are amazing but the bedroom did get a little too silly for me. (Although I did call my husband over when I was reading the article to check out the nightstand chandeliers- how pretty & functional are they?!) And that bathroom is perfection. Love the living room too & the pops of color in the chairs.

And I'm still SO SAD about Cottage Living. It really was my favroite & I don't know where to go without it. 🙁 Right now I'm doing Domino, Country Living & House Beautiful… but nothing's giving me exactly what Cottage Living had-ah vell!

Oh my god, I love, love, love, those wingback turquise chairs! Now thats a colour you don’t see too often on those kind of chairs! Great post!

    Those windows are so cool!

Love those blue chairs and those windows!

  6. Courtney says:

All the light fixtures in this house are beyond gorgeous!! Love love love. And those windows are another bonus. Great house and this will be another deeply missed mag!

  7. Julia @ Hooked on Houses says:

I hadn’t seen your post about the Country Living House of the Year, so thanks for telling me about it. I enjoyed reading your thoughts and those of your readers. Glad I’m not the only one who had mixed feelings about it. I thought parts of it were really lovely, but there were other things I’d have to change if I lived there. I think the kitchen would be the first thing on my list to tackle. Just too dark for me with all that wood.

    P.S. Love your blog! 🙂

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.

In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]

The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]

new-farrow-and-ball-paint-color-picks-for-my-house

Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]

What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]

I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
