that is where we got our dining room table (well, our house has no dining room really, so it’s our kitchen table 🙂 )If I were you, I would get a fun table like this and then go antiquing for the chairs. But, I’m in love with anything antique, so that’s just me! I really like that set in the photo with the mismatched chair at the end.

Oh I am sorry to hear that! I know you are frustrated. I will keep my eyes open.

    You may try looking here:

I haven’t been on there lately but sometimes they have good tables and you may be able to tweak them some, maybe a whitewash?

    Good luck, keep us posted.

So happy to have found your blog! I’m also blog-obsessed {my husband would like to chuck my computer} and am trying my hand in the blog world as well. Isn’t it a great community?

Okay, I’m sure you’ve been through all these places, but how about http://www.ballarddesigns.com? And I totally agree with Ann Ominous–get the table and then go buy different kinds of chairs.

That’s so frustrating! I got mine at CB2.com, but I love Environment Furniture and would probably get my next table there. Check out their website….

  9. Catherine says:

Perhaps the first two were meant to be faulty, because it would pave the way for finding the perfect dining set…let’s hope!
Have fun looking, and in the meantime, thanks for this gorgeous picture! Love the beamed ceiling.

Have you tried stalking craigslist for a table? I have found some pretty tables on there lately, granted that is in my area. I found a few that with a coat of paint, and some new chairs they would be a great set! I love the non-matchy look though, so it depends on what you are going for. Also antique stores, or even the Salvation Army a la Eddie Ross has some great options too.

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.

In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]

Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]

I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
