I want this, organization

When in doubt hide it…

  1. Kristin says:

Wow… what a lovely storage bin. I have to check that out.

  2. Rhianne says:

Hidying is my best friend, I always leave it to the last minute as well!

  3. Sweet Nothings says:

i buy all my storage stuff in the kids department bc its pink..i have no shame.

  4. Scattering Lupines says:

I have baskets in my work room for each "project" so I just throw in a few quick clean-up, clutter-filled baskets to the collection … and I look like a very busy, productive, creatively infused individual, with everything organized by basket. When in reality, there are maybe 2 out of 10 baskets that contain actual works-in-progress.

  5. Aartee says:

I'm a huge fan of small bags etc. for organizing…my purse totally stays organized with a bunch of little bags!

  6. Katie says:

I have baskets throughout my house where I can store things laying around especially magazines and to-do lists-it's perfect for last minute clean-ups!

  7. Blueprint Bliss says:

I think I may need one of these!

  8. G+D says:

    Ooh, I love this!

  9. laurenfromtexas says:

throw everything in a laundry basket in my bedroom and declare it "off limits"! Haha

  10. Liz says:

This is one of the BEST tips I've heard yet. 🙂

  11. down and out chic says:

a glass of wine so this way i won't be as concerned with the mess. it's usually not clutter, it's dog hair which makes me quite unhappy!

  12. pve design says:

I found a bag from two's company and carry it everywhere. I wish I had several, It is a red and white print, and folds flat, so it can fit under a bed or in a
drawer. Everyone comments on it and it is my go to market bag.
    That one is so cute.

  13. mrosev14 says:

Those storage bins are great! I might have to order a blue one for Roman Noodle's toys and a pink one for Super Sadie's toys.

I am like you as far as last minute cleaning. My house is always kept neat, but like you the clutter spreads over time. All my anatomy books, my papers, equipment etc. Maybe I'll have to order a green one for my stuff…

  14. abby jenkins says:

I bought some clear children's shoe boxes at Container Store – they are a great size. Super easy to see what is inside and they are very stable stacked. I put all my paints, brushes, trims, postcards, envelopes, and whatever other 'collections' I have lying around and stack them in my office armoire. Easy to stay organized (did I say that?!) when I just pull out a couple of the ones I need instead of big bins or baskets of stuff. Plus they were on sale for like 3 bucks each!

  15. Haven and Home says:

    Going to order 6 I think…

  16. Under a Green Roof says:

great storage bin, that would be better than raking everything into random drawers, which is what I do 🙂

  17. Kwana says:

I have big bind that I keep handy for throwing the clutter in then hiding it in the basement!

  18. Kristin says:

I wanted to tell you that you can actually order these bins on Amazon — with FREE shipping if you spend $25 — just in case you're really interested in getting any.

  19. Jennifer says:

yeah I'm a total stasher. I opened a drawer in the chest in our dining room the other day and was astonished/embarrassed as what was inside!

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.

In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]

new-farrow-and-ball-paint-color-picks-for-my-house

Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
