Once again I am beyond happy that I comment on my blog led to me finding a blog and new friend as well.
If you are not a reader of the Good Life for Less then run over and start catching up.
Jill is a girl’s girl. She just get’s it when it comes to fashion. As a busy mom of 2 she knows that sometimes you end up putting yourself last. That being said she started offering her servies to all. Book her and she’ll have you walking out the door and looking like you just left the runway on a Forever 21 budget.
Most recently she started doing videos on her blog and I’m beyond obsessed with her. Her personality comes out on the blog, but when you get to see her speaking it just shines even more and you want to be her BFF.
She’s stylish, sassy and she’s this weeks featured lady!
So sit back, relax and enjoy!

First off a huge thanks to Camila for having me here today! I just love reading the “IN HER SHOES” series… without further ado, here is a day in my life – kids, blogging and fun!
7:30 am Wake up and realize I am already running a bit late… today I have to take my husband to work (we share a car and I need it today!). Hurry around the house, dress the kids, quick put food in their mouths (and mine) and grab the to-go mugs of coffee that my sweet husband has already prepared!! Although carpooling gets old, it is 15 minutes that all four of us get to spend together. And I like that.
8:00 am Out the door!
8:30 am Arrive home and realize that I have to leave for the gym in an hour and a half to make my pilates class but I have no clean gym clothes… rush upstairs, start laundry!
I spend the next hour or so packing gym and pool bags, straightening the house here and there, keeping an eye on the laundry, trying to check email and Google Reader quick, entertaining the kids and making sandwiches for the pool. (I feel like the Cat in the Hat… a one women side show!)
10:00 am The dryer switches off, I grab some clean gym clothes, throw the kids in the car and we are off!
10:30 am Pilates begins and I suddenly realize my body still feels fatigued from yesterday’s pilates class and my already hectic morning. Work to shake it off and spend the next hour becoming one with my abs… and biceps, triceps, obliques, gluts… you get the picture.
11:45 am Snatch the kids from the gym day care and head out to the pool! It is a gorgeous day with a few fluffy clouds and temps right at 80 or so degrees. Days like this I love my job as a stay-at-home-mom. Even though I just had a great workout… chasing two kids through the pool and the sandbox is feeling like another! We hang at the pool until the kids are tired and crabby (and I’m headed in the same direction).
2:00 pm Home at last! The neighbor boys are waiting at the garage to ask my son over to play (yes, please!) then the little one goes down for a nap and I settle in for some catch-up. First things first – a shower (thank goodness for neighbors)! Then on to check email, check Google Reader, put together tomorrow’s post and then put the finishing touches on a good LOOK for less consult and email it to the client. Stay tuned to the blog for this consult, it’s French-Chic and turned out really well! Here’s a sneak peek:
4:00 pm General chaos of kids ensues… Matchbox cars crashing, milk spilling, cartoons in the background, me reminding them to either “be careful”, “be gentle” or “be nice”. I could run a recording of me saying these phrases all day!
4:45 pm Pack the kids up again to pick my husband up from work.
5:15 pm I make the “executive” decision that I am not cooking tonight (I need to go grocery shopping too bad!) so we head to our favorite mexican joint. The kids act crazy and don’t eat hardly a bite. We grab some to-go boxes and head out! At least my husband and I are full!
6:30 pm I hand the kids over to dad for some crazy play time and I am up in my closet filming my second “vlog” episode for the blog! Trying on belts while being overly full on mexican food? Not a good match! I quick plug in the camera to let the video download and I’m off and running again!
7:00 pm Now it’s time for bed for the kiddos… after pjs, brushing teeth, two temper-tantrums and a couple of books I am beat. I doze off while rocking my daughter to sleep (rocked myself to sleep I guess!).
7:30 pm Editing, editing, editing. This vlog episode I had to do in three takes for three different outfits. At least I am finally getting the hang of iMovie!
Even though it’s only 8:30 pm I am beat and have another similar day ahead of me tomorrow! I grab a glass of wine, a book and slip into sweat pants…. that’s all folks!
Today I spent the day in my velvety soft Haviana’s Slim flip flops in silver. I could wear these every.single.day. I so love them. I know they aren’t that glamorous… but they are made in Brazil, right!?!? It’s August, what can I say?

A big thank you to Jill for participating. I loved getting learn about her day. What fun! Blogging, fashion work, two adorable kiddos, mexican food (yum) and doing it all in Haviana’s Slim flip flops in silver (which I also happen to wearing) just perfect!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend. I’m heading out right now to my mom’s house. She decided yesterday that she wants to surprise my sister (the one in Kenya right now) with a room re-do.
What can I say she’s a teacher and has off her first summer and has filled it with HGTV. So I have a tiny teeny budget and until Tuesday evening to get it all finished.
Wish me luck!
xoxo,
Camila
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
