The office re-do in my house is finally starting to come together. The desk is finally finished waiting for a reveal, the floors got done, hardware for window treatments are up, fabric has been purchased for the window treatments, coffee table/ottoman is being slip covered as I type.
We are almost there!
The most exciting update in the office is that my slipcover is finished and it makes me love the room even more.
Here is what the loveseat looked like before:
It had amazing lines, unbelievable price and the fabric was actually in great condition it just wasn’t the look I was going for.
After Julie got her hands on it here is the fabulous new loveseat:
Here is a close up of the fabric: It’s a bit Josef Frank inspired with a tad of grandma chic and I’m in love.
Hope you enjoyed a little peek into the headquarters of Effortless Style Interiors!
Business side note: I was hoping to launch my business site by the end of August, but there have been some delays with the web designer.
Fingers crossed blog re-vamp should be taking place within the next two weeks! We are moving to Word Press! With the business site shortly following that.
While that is waiting to happening I have begun taking on clients this summer! It’s been going great. I love what I do and it’s great to share it with all.
If one of my lovely readers finds themselves needing design help please feel free to email me for rates! Hiring an interior decorator doesn’t have to be a scary or expensive experience. I guarantee you that you will actually save time and money by hiring a professional the first time around and getting it done perfect.
Wow, that is one big furniture transformation. It almost doesn't even look like the same piece anymore. I love you added a little shirt to the bottom. It balances out the wings so well.
Love this transformation! I have a little loveseat that I bought from an elderly neighbor years ago for $50 and it's in sore need of a slipcover. But I have nowhere to put it in our house, so it's taking up space in my parents' basement. This before-and-after is inspiring me to try to find a place for it!
I LOVE the fabric you chose – feminine and quirky and oh-so-fun! Would you mind sharing the name of the design? Thanks, and I can't wait to see the rest of your office transformation!
I love the new look, a perfect example of taking a risk with bold, fresh, updated floral. There is nothing more exciting than this time for you. I opened my design business 4 years ago and know the excitement you are feeling. Just follow your heart and stay true to your design beliefs and you will do a wonderful job. Congrats!

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
