I want someone else to try it first and teach me everything that could go wrong. Is that asking too much?

  2. Liz says:

I've been thinking of making my own stencils – how fun would that be to be able to say that I made that wall (or whatever) look awesome?!? Thanks for reminding me that I need to do that. 🙂

That's funny, I was just thinking about stenciling my curtains yesterday! I also love those pricier curtains and was thinking of a cheaper alternative. I'll let you know if I go through with it.

I love everything John Robshaw does. Great idea about using the craft foam to make the stencil. I saw these great panels at Anthro but now I think I can make them.

I'm glad you liked my photo. Thanks for visiting my blog.

Great idea! I love the ethnic vibe of the west elm window treatments. I am also shopping for window treatments and will most likely get those for the bedrooms.

    Camila:
Do you know of a good, online site for fabric paint? There's NO hope of finding any in stores down here – and I am truly inspired by your stripes!!

    P.S. – I apologize if you've already noted this – I'm a little behind on my blog reading 🙁

  12. Averill says:

What a wonderful idea! I even think doing it yourself would yield a more "authentic"/handmade feel than you'd get with anything screen printed.

  13. Miss Wendy says:

Another great idea! You should try the foam stamp and let us know how it goes.

  14. Blueprint Bliss says:

I'm always torn with pattern in a room…where to place it. I am really wanting this chinoiserrie print in brown cotton for drapes right now…I may do it.

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.

In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]

new-farrow-and-ball-paint-color-picks-for-my-house

Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]

What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]

I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
