Hi Everyone,
I hope you all had a lovely weekend! Mine was full of work, but fun none the less.
I was at an install till 1 am on Friday night! Pictures are coming this week. Fingers crossed for tomorrow, but it’s a bit dreary here so not sure how pictures will come out.
Then started was spent in hours of traffic! I headed out with my mom to shop for fabrics at Brunschwig & Fils.
If you are in the NY area the sale is open till this Wednesday.
Of course I love sharing the experience with you so I snapped pictures along the way!
Everywhere you go you see rolls and rolls of fabric. For the fabrics on the bolt you need to buy all the yardage on it. The prices were good anything 10 yards or less was only $60 for the whole thing!
They also had design boards up showing you how you could incorporate the fabrics and wallpaper they had on sale in a room.
Oh just bolt after bolt of fabric. I so wanted the green/white floral all the way to the left. I left it because I already have the blue/cream color way at home from last years sale.
They also had a room dedicated to wallpaper!
My favorite section has to be the remnant room. You can find pieces as large as 5 yards of fabric! Last year everything in the room was $5 a piece. This year the prices went up. So if you found pieces that were a yard or less they were $5 and everything else was $10 still a good deal when there yards normally go in the $100 plus range.
They also sell home accessories like lamps.
Look at what’s been following me all weekend? I keep bumping into Chiang Mai Dragon. Someone took a plain garden stool and hand-painted the pattern. Loved it, but didn’t love the sale price of $1,100!
So what did I come with? I spent $40 and got the following things:
I kept coming back to the large blue floral. I have no idea what I will use it for. Hopefully so lucky client will get to enjoy it in some toss pillows.
This piece is making it’s way out to a fellow blogger! I hope she likes it!
I’m working on a country style room for a client so this will fit right at home in the room.
Loved this piece. They had it in a bunch of different color-ways, but the light yellow/cream was the best. This is also heading out to a fellow blogger! A little surprise for being so sweet!
The rest of weekend was spent celebrating my SIL birthday, working on a client consult (Hope you like it Sara!), and shopping for an evening gown. You see on May 14th I’m heading out to Colombia! Both my parents were raised there and we are taking a family vacation to see my grandma and go to a cousins wedding.
We went everywhere to look for a long gown. The only one in my closet is my wedding dress and I thought it would be poor form to wear it 🙂 . I finally found one for $49 at the outlets! Woo hoo!
What did you all do? Any great steals and buys that I need to be jealous of!
xoxo,
Camila
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
I've been dying to go to that for 2 years now! Looks amazing. Is it hard to get to from the train station do you think? We should organize a blogger trip to it next year!!
