If you’ve been reading my blog lately you know I’ve been obsessed with the color blue!
From sky blue to peacock blue all the way to navy blue I’ve had my sights set on blue!
As many of you way know the reason for my trip to Colombia was a family wedding. In Colombia all of the weddings are Black Tie and long dresses for the ladies are required. Since the only long evening gown in my closet was my wedding dress I knew I had to find something.
Of course it ended up being blue! Bargain shopper that I am I found my dress on sale for $49 at the BCBG outlet! The color was called INK.
Little side story about me and Jon. We became best friends our senior year of High School. At some point that year we both started to like each other, but of course we didn’t say anything to each other. So prom time came around and Jon asked someone else to prom. So this little lady threw herself a pity party and didn’t go. Anyway since this wedding was the closest thing to a prom that we’ve attended in a while I made sure to get Jon a matching tie. It was blue/black stripes. Cheesy? Totally, but I had to do it. 🙂
Apparently I wasn’t the only one that had blue on my mind. It turns out all of the ladies in the family were in some shade of blue/green that night.
Funniest part of the evening. It was a wedding for my cousin and they forgot to make me a name card. Jon thought it was totally funny and a fellow wedding guest decided to fix it and added me on.
I loved the way my hair come out. It was a sort of side knot/bun thing and I loved it. I also found some fab green stub earrings that I think went really nice with my blue dress.
I love a good funny face shot so I had to make Jon and my sisters compile with my request and make their funniest faces.
At the wedding they handed out fake mustaches and flower hair clips for all the ladies. Not sure exactly why, but it was fun.
My husband who rarely drinks turned out looking like this by the end of the night.
Ah what can I say he had fun with the mustaches. Jon thought this was super funny!
By the end of the night (party lasted till 4 am) my face was pretty much like this at all times:
If you can’t tell Jon really enjoyed himself!
Don’t worry Jon wasn’t the only one that had fun. It looks like Dad enjoyed himself as well.
This brings my Colombia trip recaps to an end. I hope I didn’t bore you all with pictures.
🙂
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
