A couple of weeks ago I was waiting at a traffic light in Manhattan and saw a massive line of people waiting to get into a store. I had never heard anything about it and merely saw a sign that said gelato. It was hot that day in the city, but not hot enough to warrant a line wrapping around the block. It was craziness.
The next day I’m online and I realize it was the opening day of Eataly a new indoor take on the Italian marketplace. One of the owners is none other than Mario Batali hence the crazy line.
I haven’t made it back to check it out for myself, but I’m totally intrigued.
I found some images of the store online and had to share them with all.
Imagine having a pantry like this at home:
Like a real street corner in Italy there is signage to show you the way:
I know want to empty out my fridge and fill it with baskets to house fresh veggies:
I love carbs so I will have to go check out this bread station in person:
After I’m done stuffing myself with bread I think I would balance the calories with a piece of fruit!
I love good store display and this place does not disappoint. I can totally see myself overpaying for a loaf of bread or some fancy cheese.
*Apparently Martha and me were thinking the same thing today. Totally happens when you are so close to someone 😉 and her show today was about Eataly as well! Check out some video footage here. Thanks for the heads up Janna!
Wow! That definitely looks like a store I would have trouble keeping my cart empty at. Displaying food like that makes me want to take it all home. Let us know what it's like when you go!
I was just watching Martha Stewart and she featured Eataly on her show… my mouth was watering during the whole segment… Must got to that place when I'm in NY.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]

I just saw this place featured on Martha Stewart today. Pretty cool.
Read about this on Tory Burch's blog. Can't wait to go but I think the lines are still out the door. Thanks for a great post/photos!
I am seriously jealous! This is unbelievable. The closet thing we have to that is Fresh market, which I adore.
Have a nice day!
