This past weekend I was busy working away on some mini photo shoots that are going to be used as headers on the new look for the blog!
Saturday we got to work on setting the scene.
We started with this:
Then we took apart of the garage and took out this beauty that I can’t seem to part with, but don’t have the money or space yet to get it refinished:
Why the shopping bags? Well, so glad you asked, one of the perks of the new blog is that it’s going to have a classifieds section aka a virtual yard sale for our home decor items that we no longer want, but want to give a good home to. People from all over can come on and list their home decor items for free and set a price and then let you know if they are willing to ship or if it needs to be local pick-up. A sort of craigslist, but instead of having to search by location you can see everything all at once. In way it will be massive decorators closet that we can all pick through. 🙂
We then added a couple more props:
We were missing one more that prop that was having some diva issues, but we finally got him in the shot:
(Can you spy my featured guest in the shot? I think this is the winning picture!)
Of course I know what all you guys really want:
(Haha Jon had to ham it up for the camera. I think I’m going to start renting out my husband so that you all can get a little help on your DIY projects. 🙂 )
So start cleaning up your houses and rounding together home decor items that you no longer want, but think others would and get ready to list away!
The new blog is at the programmer as I type. Should be super soon now!
Such a great idea! I have a garage full of furniture etc. that I would like to sell so count me in:) If you ever decide to part with the couch, let me know because you have a potential buyer right here- love it! The final shot that you are going to use is perfection- adorable!!

ON THE BLOG
My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
