My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
Amazing progress! More and more inspiration!

Whew! You were busy, but looks like beautiful progress was made. Looking forward to reveal day!
fab!!!
I’m crazy about your pillows- the Misia one is sooo stunning- Also adore that Pierre Frey lampshade (I think)- stunning fabric. Thanks for the inspiration!
Christine you have a good eye! That is a lampshade and I love it. I used a bit more of the fabric in another spot of the room as well.
These photos are stunning! I can’t wait for the full reveal. You’re house looks like a very happy, cozy place!
LOVE the pillow combo!
love the pillow fabrics – mind sharing where they’re from? they would work great in my living room!
LOVE your curtains!!. I am trying to achieve the same look in my home. The curtains are up, I just need instructions on how to “customize” them. Can you tell me how you added the gorgeous orange accent to yours??
Hi Nickola,
That wasn’t a DIY project. I purchased about 2 yards of fabric and bought all 6 panels to my seamstress and had her make my little mock-up a reality. For the cost of $20 per panel in labor it was totally worth it for me. Hope that helps.
xo,

Now I just need to find a good seamstress in Ottawa. Any recommendations out there?!
Thanks!!
I love the fretwork on your pelmet box! I’m doing something similar in the nursery and it didn’t even occur to me to use fabric glue instead of tedious sewing. Woo hoo!
