HOW-TO-MAKE-AN-EASY-DIY-OUTDOOR-MOVIE-SCREEN-WITH-STAND

Fall is the perfect season to host an outdoor movie night in your backyard! It’s that time of year when outdoor furniture is still outside and it gets dark earlier than the summer which means your little kiddos can enjoy the movie night as well. It’s so nice to transform your backyard with cozy blankets, […]

round up of budget friendly bar carts

Can you believe it’s already November? Before we know it Thanks No. 1 Modern bar cart with patterned sides that looks great as is, but would also look amazing painted a pop of color! Plus it’s only $157. No. 2 This lucite bar cart is a personal favorite of mine. Look at those chic lines! […]

For the longest time our backyard was mainly just grass and a little small area where we laid down some pavers so that we could set out a little plastic table/chairs during the summer. Not exactly ideal for entertaining. For the past couple of years we have wanted to build a deck and enjoy the […]

I love ETSY, but I know how overwhelming it can be to sort through it and find things. My favorite finds from ETSY is always artwork and today I’m featuring one of my favorite new custom painting shops! Birds of Ashmae can take any picture (it can literally be an iphone snapshot) and make a […]

I loved getting another peek into how a new designer broke into the design world. Last week the NY TIMES did a piece on Avery Leigh Cox who is a Junior designer at Amanda Nisbet Design. {Avery actually painted her own apartments fireplace hot pink! I totally need to see pictures of that!} The article […]

Getting your high-heeled foot in the door…

Ok I totally swear this is the last time I discuss my 30th birthday, but you guys wanted pictures and I’m happy to report that I have some to share. My sisters were the master party planners behind this bash and I must say they did an excellent job. There were little teeny details everywhere […]

IN HER SHOES: Visual Vamp

A while back I meet the ladies behind Nesting Newbies and they asked me to contribute to one of their latest issues. I was given the assignment of working with a faux e-decorating client that was a young single gal who had recently graduated from college and had a $2,500 to work with. Here is […]

Nesting Newbies Sneak Peek!

Sorry for the late blog post this morning. I was up a little too late last night celebrating my birthday and I’m wiped this morning. I had a lovely time seeing my family, eating some good food and of course opening presents! Jon surprised me with his gift. All week he had been banging away […]

Birthday Surprise!

Today I wake up a year older. I’m not normally excited about birthdays. This birthday was one that I was particularly not very happy about because this lady was leaving her 20s and turning 30! A couple of months ago though I decided I was going to embrace it instead of freak out. My twenties […]

My roaring 20s…

This weekend I had the great pleasure of getting to spend the weekend with my family in the Hamptons! It was lovely and all thanks to my sister’s sweet friends family (Did you get all that? Thank you Foleys!) We left early Saturday morning and arrived after a scenic 2 hour drive to this home: […]

ON THE BLOG

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.

Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.

On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
