Ok I totally swear this is the last time I discuss my 30th birthday, but you guys wanted pictures and I’m happy to report that I have some to share.
My sisters were the master party planners behind this bash and I must say they did an excellent job. There were little teeny details everywhere that I loved noticing!
Here I am in my 20s attire:
{Apparently it’s really hard to find flapper headbands when it’s not Halloween so I had to hit JoAnns and pick up supplies to make my own custom peacock feather one.}
Now I didn’t know much about the party. The did a really good job of keeping all of details a surprise, but a while back I had seen a fun 30 birthday cake in Martha Stewart and I hinted aka demanded very nicely that I wanted one for my birthday.
{My sister actually told the poor bakery exactly where each colored M&M should go. She wanted to make sure they got a nice colored effect. So sweet.}
Of course I need to share a picture of me and my two party planners aka sisters:
{I was lucky enough to find a dress in my own closet that would work for the party, but my sisters had to hit the stores to find something. Funny story. They actually ended up in the plus size section of a store where they both purchased shirts and used them as dresses. Perfection.}
Now since it was my birthday it’s only fitting to show a picture of the woman that gave birth to me all of those years ago.
She is going to kill me for posting this picture, but she totally begged for the picture that night:
{My sisters had little props throughout the party room for people that didn’t have costumes aka strands of pearl necklaces for the ladies, hats, and mustaches.}
Mom wasn’t the only one that went nuts with the mustasches:
{Ah like mother like daughter. Yes, that’s my sister on the right wearing about 3 mustashes on her face.}
I swear Jon was at the party, but I barely saw him. We did manage to get a shot together at the end of the night:
{I guess cross dressing was the theme of the night, because Jon had bawling wearing all of my accessories.}
All in all it was a great night. A huge thank you to my sisters (Ximena & Daniela), my parents and Jon for pooling together their resources and throwing me a lovely fete.
Hope you all had a great weekend! I’m still recovering from my weekend on this Monday morning.
Camila, it looks like you had an amazing time! Your sisters are so thoughtful and detail-oriented (the directions for the cake decorating is hilarious).
The cake, the cake! What am I do to with my time now that I don’t have a baker to torture with crazy emails? So glad it all came together and we all had a fabulous time! Love you!
PS – Mom is going to kill you for that pic.
YAY! Glad you enjoyed the party and that we got a feature on the blog! haha! It was SO much fun and I swear I think I need to have stick on mustaches at all times to spruce up my look! XOXO
Happy belated birthday! What a fun concept for a 30th birthday celebration. You all looked great, were you surprised that everyone was willing to dress up?
I love it! What a great idea. Any reason to dress in costume is fine with me. Heck, I’m already planning my Halloween costume. I’m going as a toddle and tiara pageant kid! lol.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
