For some time I’ve been following the work of Lauren Guarcello the stylish and talented woman behind Porter Design Company. I admire many designers that work in a variety of styles, but I do have a chosen few that I would love to work with and Lauren is one of them. I love her fun use of color and pattern and it’s fun to see all of my dream products in her actual rooms instead of just my inspiration boards.
Check out a recent house she finished in South Hampton:
{Many times people are afraid of the color brown because they think it will be too dark, but I love seeing it in this space. Look how light and airy it looks with the combo of yellow and sky blue.}
{They sprinkled yummy Alan Campbell fabrics all throughout the house so it’s fun to spot them. Check out the toss pillow on the sofa for a peek at the fabric.}
{Blue and Green another one of my favorite color combos. Love the variety in the shades of both colors throughout the room.}
{A girl after my own heart. An elephant table!}
{How beautiful is that fabric? It looks like an amazing mosaic tile! Love the aqua lucite pulls on the drawers.}
{I don’t think I will ever tire of KW Imperial Trellis. Everytime I think I’m over it I spot it in a room and fall in love all over again.}
{Dream room for our next house is a library. Every since I saw that massive library in Beauty and the Beast I’ve wanted one for myself. Adore the color story in this room. Love how the navy walls add to the cozy factor.}
{Stunning dining room with expensive fabric and furnishings, but that beautiful lattice wood work can easily be recreated on a budget.}
Ah lovely. So, who else wants to drop what they are doing and head over to Porter Design Company and fetch coffee for Lauren and learn from the master.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
