My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
Wow! Are those your husbands pieces of art? He’s talented. I have such an appreication for abstract art. I had no idea you were opening an Etsy shop…wishing you only the best! As someone who has purchased nice pieces of artwork, I’m always excited when my artwork has a name. Didn’t Jackson Pollock start off numbering and then move to naming? I’m off to double check that…
Naming is nice because it gives you a story but if you don’t name it then it also allows the imagination to be more creative with what the individual sees in the painting – you can’t go wrong either way. Do be sure to sign each piece!
Didn’t think I would appreciate abstract art but I LOVE these – are you able to give approx. sizes? Would “custom” (as in choosing color palette) be available in the future?
First one speaks to me and would love an additional one in complimentary tones. Anyway, good luck with this venture – and the little one!
We are doing custom pieces. At first we started out with neutral bases and then pops of color and then slowly we are adding full on colorful pieces like the first one.
These are fantastic! I would definitely name them!
I love numbered artwork, especially when it’s abstract. The color combo in first image is lovely…looking forward to your etsy shop!
I love them all, the first one is my favorite. I would name them, adds to the conversation of a piece when someone comments on it:) What type of artwork (looks like wood with maybe a beige / wood texture chevron design) is next to the etsy pieces?
Hi Deb,
Thanks for the advice. We are going to name them! The item next to the artwork is actually a bone inlay mirror from Pottery Barn. We bought it about 2 years ago and it’s not longer available.

I would name them. People respond to names and purchase items with a name that means something to them. We name all of our chairs over at happy chair and get a great deal of positive response from that. hope this helps and good luck with your new shop
I especially love the first one….those colors! Good luck with the site.
My daughters, who are both oil painters, name theirs. I think it’s fun.
We name everything in our house. Our children’s computer is named Bob. Gives it some personality.
Name them! That would be so much more fun and personal than numbers. Oh I could just imagine what names you could come up with. Something like Constantine. Ha!
LOVE what I see so far! Can’t wait until it’s fully up and running!

i’ve been meaning to post about all the pretty watercolor patterns that i’ve been seeing. they remind me of paintings of water colors. does that makes sense? they really are lovely!
