I’ve had a pretty great pregnancy thus far. No real symptoms to talk about except lack of sleep and of course some weight gain. This weekend though I was hit with complete pregnancy brain. You see I finally had decided to do a maternity shoot and found a wonderful photographer, great location, and the perfect outfit. All was set to go this weekend. I got up really early because we needed to be in the city early for the perfect light. The car ride was less than enjoyable for me. For some reason the little man in my belly hates being in the car, which makes it really uncomfortable for me.
We finally arrive at our location and found parking all before our scheduled meeting time. Perfect, right? We head over to the corner where we are meeting and wait….and then wait… and then wait some more. Finally after about 20 mins of waiting in the cold I decided to check my emails and make sure I was at the right meeting place.
Well we were at the right meeting spot just the wrong weekend!!!!!!!
Can you believe it? I felt so silly. I couldn’t believe my mistake. So, what did we do? We stopped at my favorite doughnut shop before heading back home. Nothing like eating your feelings. 🙂
I felt so bad for Jon. I had made him run out the day before and get a haircut and made him do a fashion show with his closet to pick out the perfect outfit and then bam nothing.
I was originally going to reschedule, but the rest of the weekends until this little man’s due date is action packed so I just decided to do a newborn shoot instead.
I made Jon snap a picture of me when we got home so you guys could see my ever expanding belly (and face!):
{Don’t you like my cute outfit?}
The rest of the weekend was spent doing more baby prep work. So, while I took things easy and relaxed watching Lifetime movie’s all day Jon was in complete nesting mood.
The painting is all done! I love all of my paint picks. They worked out perfectly!
Now excuse all of the messing items in the room like everything. 90% of the items I picked out for the nursery including the crib are on back order until the beginning of December! Madness, right? I’m trying to remain calm about it, but it has been stressing me a bit.
Hope you all had a lovely weekend and so happy that this is only a 3 day work week!
You look adorable!! I am guilty of the same thing. My last pregnancy I showed up at a friends house for dinner with my side dish (that was to serve 8 people)…one week early. I’m sure the donuts were delish!
Ahhh, you look so cute! I’m so annoyed at your pregnancy brain, I wanted to see the photoshoot! But I’ll just have to forgive you! Can’t wait to see that belly and the little man in person, you just keep him in there until then! PS – Are you Mom? Standing in a cute outfit asking people to tell you look cute? Haha you are forgiven because a) you do look cute b) you are pregnant c) I do it too – we are mother’s daughters! Love you!
Hey Camilla – love your blog and your style!
I was actually waiting to see if you found a photographer, because I also live in Nassau County and have not been able to find one with pretty much same requirements as yours – and my baby is 8 months already! So I need to have her caprured ASAP… do you mind sharing your photographer find??
Thanks in advance and good luck with the rest of your pregnancy – hope you feel wonderful.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
