Early Delivery: He is here!
Hi All,
Sorry for the radio silence these last couple of days, but things got a bit hectic here at Effortless Style. As you all know I was wishing and praying that I would go into labor sooner than later and on 12/14/11 I got my wish.
I woke up at 7am that morning and literally heard a pop and then bam my water broke! We left for the hospital at 7: 45 am and during the short car ride I started getting contractions 3 mins apart. We arrived at the hospital at 8am and I was told I was only 2 centimeters dilated. So frustrating with all of the pain I was hoping it was a bit more. Once I got placed in the labor and delivery room the contractions were even more painful and I was able to get my epidural. The epidural made the next couple of contractions better, but I could still feel them and was doing some heavy breathing during them. My doctor arrived at 10:30 am and heard my heavy breathing and decided to check me again. Turns out I was already 8 centimeters dilated and almost ready to go. Literally 10 mins later I was 10 centimeters and ready to push!
I was hoping I would only have to do a couple of good pushes and he would be out, but that didn’t happen. I pushed for 3 hours and finally at 1:58 pm the latest addition to Effortless Style arrived!
Without further adieu I would love to introduce you to Hudson Oliver Pavone!

We are beyond obsessed with him. All we do is stare at him in total awe. I’ve been lucky to have Jon at home with me these last couple of days, but tomorrow it’s back to work for him so please excuse us as we try and get into a new routine. Posting will be a bit light for the rest of 2011, but don’t worry we’ll be back in full force come January.

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.

Congratulations! How wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing. At 35 weeks pregnant I am happy to hear your birth story, while it sounds challenging it seems nothing like the horrible videos they showed in birthing class. Glad you are all well and enjoying Hudson!

Congratulations! The first few weeks go by in such a blur. Take a LOT of pictures! I’m almost 4 months in the motherhood journey and I look back on the pictures from the first week and I’m still in awe. I can’t believe she was so tiny and their looks change so dramatically.
Hudson is adorable! I love his name. At first I was feeling a little jealous over your birth story–3 1/2 hour labor sounds so nice but pushing for 3 hours… Wow-wee!
