Hope you all had a lovely weekend. We were suppose to be hit with a lot of rain in NY this past weekend, but it actually ended up being a mostly sunny weekend!
We did take cover from the little bit of rain we got and headed to the mall. As many of you may know I love a good bargain. When I started working with design clients one of my favorite sources for budget friendly lamps and window treatments was/is JcPenney’s Well they recently contacted me and offered me a $200 gift card to check out the new JcPenney. I’m sure you’ve all seen the commercials. Starting on 2/1 JcPenney’s changed the way they handle sales. Now all items will be at their sale prices so no more having to wait for a special day or hoarding away coupons. I decided that my house has gotten enough love lately with purchases so it was time to spend that gift card on us!
Hudson got some PJ’s, Jon got some sneakers and I picked out some clothes:
After shopping till we dropped we headed home to continue work on Hudson’s nursery. Almost finished..I swear. It takes me a millions years to make final decisions in my own home, but they are finally all made. Now just waiting on my workroom to finish up the window treatments.
On Sunday got his own Treat yo self experience when we headed to Harbor Freight Tools. While that type of store is not normally my cup of tea I was dying to check it out, because a while back I had blogged about some of their carts.
I got to see them in person and I still love them. The navy one is my favorite. I think it would make for a great bar:
Little Hudson has been awake more and more lately and he decided he wanted to check out our purchases as well:
We ended our treat ourselves weekend by going out to lunch. Hudson was making some funny faces and I just had to share:
Ah so sweet. These days Jon and I just want to burst with happiness. He is simply wonderful!
Don’t worry we also managed to get a bit of interior design business accomplished and headed to Blick to pick up supplies for our etsy shop:
Also due to the mostly sunny weekend I was able to take pictures of a bunch of new pieces for the shop. Editing them today and they should be available tomorrow.
I hope you all took a little time to treat yourselves as well. 🙂
My husband and I were at Harbor Freight this weekend and I was also looking at the carts! I mentioned several ideas for using them in our home…maybe your post will finally convince my husband that one of these is a must-have item!

My living room is one of the rooms that evolved drastically from when we first moved one. Originally I painted the walls chocolate brown and did accents of white, blue and orange. That lasted maybe 2 years.
Our dining room sat empty for months. Okay maybe it was empty for just a handful of weeks and then we couldn’t take it anymore and put in a folding table and plastic outdoor chairs, but in my mind that was still empty.
On the main floor of our house we have a Florida room. Being that it’s a Florida room it is a considered a 3 season room, because there is no heat in the room. The previous owners used it as an indoor patio with outdoor furniture and it looked like this when we moved in.
In our new home, the basement was completely unfinished. It was literally one of those dark spaces that you see in horror movies and are terrified of getting locked into. However, with the square footage in this house, I knew I needed to make the basement another workable and liveable floor of the house instead […]
The time has come to finally share our new kitchen reveal. For those of you that have been with us from the beginning, we bought a house right before the pandemic hit. It was a total gut job from top to bottom. We started our demo and then the world shut down. Enter the delays […]
Picking out paint colors for a new home can be overwhelming. I find that many times when I meet with a new client the entire house is simply just painted white or a light gray. Now, I think there is a time and place for those colors, but with paint, there is just so much […]
What to look for when it comes to picking out kitchen appliances: Leave room in your budget for appliances. When it comes to kitchen renovations everyone knows that the cabinetry and the labor of demoing and installing cabinetry is going to eat a lot of your budget. However, the second most expensive part of a […]
I don’t think I’m alone in thinking that designing a kitchen is an overwhelming undertaking. I’m an interior designer and even I find it stressful to iron out all of those details. So, when it comes time to design a kitchen I always like to partner with a kitchen designer to make sure I’m remembering […]
It looks like it was a lovely few days for you-I cannot get over how cute some of the stuff from JC Penney looks!
I need to go check out those carts at Harbor Freight- I saw your last post on them and I have been meaning to check them out!
My husband and I were at Harbor Freight this weekend and I was also looking at the carts! I mentioned several ideas for using them in our home…maybe your post will finally convince my husband that one of these is a must-have item!
Love that black and white jacket, I just bought one of those… your little guy is adorable!! I wonder if they would ship those carts to Canada…
He is such a cute baby!! And love those “bar” carts. I have been thinking about getting one for a while now…
